Types of glass make a difference

Types of Glass make a diffierence

The glazing product you choose for your picture does make a difference in protection of fading and overall weight of the total picture frame package.

To be considered conservation, glazing products must block greater than 92% of UV light rays.  The conservation glazing products that FASTFRAME uses blocks 98-99% of the UV rays.  Nothing blocks 100% of all UV rays.  All light has UV and we need it to see color.  Without UV we would only see black, white and shades of grey.  Sunlight has the strongest UV rays but light bulbs also put off UV.  Flourecent light to a greater extent than incandescent but still there is UV light generated.

Standard glazing (plain clear glass and regular reflection control glass) only have a 47% UV blockage rating.  While conservation glass has a 99% UV rating.
